“This device uses a combination of active sensors and advanced navigation algorithms to fly along your custom, predetermined paths when triggered by a Ring Alarm sensor or within the Ring App,” Ring detailed in its official press release. “With an onboard flight control system, Always Home Cam only flies where a customer wants, when a customer wants, and only records in-flight for added privacy and security.” Features include 440 x 1440 HD video, a built-in LED that automatically lights up the path when recording at night or in dim environments, a five-minute flight time, customizable flight paths you can pre-program, 120-degree horizontal, and vertical field of view, and more. Unfortunately, to try out this futuristic camera, you have to request to be invited, and only U.S. customers can do so at the moment. It’s also important to note that the camera can only fly around a single story of a home at once, so if you have multiple levels in your home that you want to monitor, you’ll have to buy multiple Always Home Cameras.
