Apple revealed that its annual developer-focused conference will kick off on June 7 at 10 AM PDT with an opening keynote. As previously reported, the event will run through June 11. According to ZDNet, Apple sent several invitations to members of the media and developers, with a tagline of “And away we go.” Apple is expected to preview iOS 15, iPadOS 15, watchOS 8, macOS 12, and tvOS 15. The company also is expected to follow tradition and release the first beta downloads for those operating systems. Much like every other year of WWDC, the 2021 installment likely will include several different elements, including a heavy focus on the current state of Apple’s platforms and the company’s plans for the future. A “Platforms State of the Union” address will take place at 2 PM PDT on June 7, following the opening keynote. Apple says the address will revolve around the new tools and advances that the it is making for developers. On June 10, Apple will hold its annual Design Awards ceremony at 2 PM PDT. Throughout WWDC, developers also will have access to over 200 in-depth sessions, one-on-one labs, and more. Of course, the biggest bit of news throughout the conference will come during the opening keynote, which will be available to stream on YouTube, the Apple TV app, Apple.com, and the Apple Developer App. Many are hopeful that Apple will announce big changes to the iPad’s operating system with iPadOS 15, though the company has yet to share any plans yet.
