During Tuesday’s Apple event, the tech giant unveiled its latest entry-level iPad, which includes an improved A13 Bionic chip, Apple says it should provide 20% faster performance compared to the previous generation. Other changes coming to the iPad include a new 12-megapixel front camera, which will also support the Center Stage feature seen in the iPad Pro last year. The rest of the iPad looks similar to the last generation, including its 10.2-inch screen, which includes the same resolution as the last model. Now, though, the display offers True Tone, which automatically adjusts the screen’s color temperature based on ambient lighting. This new iPad also will ship with iPadOS 15, which first was showcased earlier this year. It comes with a slew of enhancements for the iPad’s home screen, app organization tools, and new multitasking features. The latest generation of the iPad also starts with more storage than previous generations. The cheapest option, which begins at $329, will ship with 64GB, compared to the previous 32GB entry-level storage option. It’s also available in both silver and space gray. Those looking to preorder the new iPad will be able to do so starting today and its expected to start shipping out next week. Additionally, it will offer support for both the first-generation Apple Pencil as well as the Apple Smart Keyboard.
