What it is: Collab is an invite-only iOS app made by Facebook’s experimental developer team, NPE (New Product Experimentation). You’ll be able to use it to “create, watch, and mix and match original videos, starting with music,” according to the blog post. How it works: You’ll be able to record your own music, or use pre-recorded snippets to create a multi-part, synchronized video. That leaves it open to folks without a musical talent, too, making Collab a good fit for more than just the virtuoso among us. You’ll be able to save the resulting video to your Camera roll, or share it across Facebook and Instagram, provided you save it to the Collab feed first, according to The Verge. What to do: As the app is invite-only right now, you’ll need to sign up for access on the Collab page. Once you do that, you’ll be added to the list of invites for people in the U.S. and Canada. If you want to keep tabs on the roll out, you can join Collab’s Facebook group, as well.
