The plan for Apple Music Sessions is to provide members with exclusive EPs from their favorite artists as well as up-and-comers, along with a little something extra. Each of the newly-recorded live tracks also takes advantage of the simulated surround sound effect created by spatial audio and is accompanied by a video of the performances. Don’t expect full albums from the new series, though. The two example EPs Apple Music Sessions is kicking off with—from Carrie Underwood and Tenille Townes—are comprised of three tracks each. In both cases, the list consists of two re-recorded songs from the artist and one cover of another artist’s song. It’s unclear if three tracks is a set number for all EPs moving forward or if two new versions of the artist’s song plus one cover will be a permanent setup. As Apple Music Sessions is a part of Apple Music, you’ll need to sign up for the service or already have a membership to check out the exclusive EPs (and their live performance videos). If you’re not already subscribed, Apple offers a free one-month trial, usable on all your Apple devices, before the $9.99 per month price goes into effect. You can check out Apple Music Sessions exclusive EPs from Carrie Underwood and Tenille Townes today, with more country music artists like Ingrid Andress and Ronnie Dunn on the way. Apple also plans to expand the series with more artists and genres at some unspecified point in the future.
