Every time you ask Google Maps for directions, including just looking up a quick address to see where something might be in relation to your location, Google thinks you might want to keep that search forever. Maybe you want to return to that restaurant someday, it reasons, or perhaps you’ll need directions back to that incorrect address you entered a few years ago. Google doesn’t know or care why you enter an address; it simply records all the information and retains it so you can use it again if you ever want to.
