Why Won’t My Echo Buds Connect?

If your Echo Buds don’t connect, you may need to set them up in the Alexa app on your phone first. Some Echo Buds can pair with any Bluetooth device right out of the box, while later versions of the hardware can’t be paired with anything until they’ve been set up. What If Echo Buds Still Won’t Connect or Lose Connection?

If your Echo Buds won’t connect, and you’ve tried setting them up in the Alexa app as outlined above, then there are a few other fixes that you can try. These fixes should also work if your Echo Buds lose connection after you’ve already paired them. If your Echo Buds don’t connect or lose connection, try these fixes:

Ensure your Echo Buds are charged: Connect the Echo Buds case to a compatible charger via a micro-USB cable, securely place the buds in the case, and close the case. If the buds aren’t charged or run out of power, they will disconnect. Check to make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device: If Bluetooth isn’t turned on, the Echo Buds won’t connect. The buds will also disconnect if Bluetooth is ever turned off. Many devices will automatically turn off Bluetooth when the batteries get low, so make sure your device is fully charged. Try to force a reconnect: Enable airplane mode on your phone and leave it on for about a moment. Then turn airplane mode off and try to reconnect your Echo Buds. Restart your device: Try turning your phone or computer off and then back on again, then attempt to reconnect the Echo Buds. Factory reset your Echo Buds: You can attempt a factory reset of your Echo Buds as a last resort. Select Forget Device in the Alexa app, unpair the buds from your phone, place the buds in their case, then press the button on the case until the LED turns solid orange.
