Check Your Notifications

If you’ve recently posted something, the easiest way to check if it’s been shared is to check your notifications. Tap the alarm bell in the top right corner of Facebook and see what new notifications are there. If a post has been shared, it’ll tell you the name of the person and how many hours ago they shared it. You may also receive an email informing you of this, depending on if you have email updates set up.

Check the Original Post

It’s possible to check directly from your timeline whether someone has shared your content.

How to Find Older Posts

How do you find who shared a post from long ago? That’s a little trickier, but still fairly simple to do. Select the search box at the top of Facebook and type in a phrase connected to the post, then press Enter. On the left-hand side of the results, select Posts From You to see your earlier post, then select Share to see who else has shared it.

Sometimes, you might want to see who has shared a public post that isn’t yours. It’s just as simple to do.   Go to the post in question, such as on a Facebook page or friend’s account, then select Share. You’ll see a list of the people who have shared the post.
