This article explains how to enable two-factor authentication on your Epic Games account, protecting your Fortnite data and in-app purchases.

How to Enable 2FA in Fortnite

When you enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Epic Games account, you’re also enabling it for Fortnite. While it’s a free game, it has in-game transactions, so when you enable 2FA for Fortnite, you’re protecting your data and those in-game purchases.

What is Two Factor Authentication?

Two-factor authentication is a way to confirm your identity when logging into a website, app, software, etc. It uses your password and a second tool like a phone number, email address, or authenticator app where you can receive a one-time code. You then present that code as proof you’re who you say you are when logging in.  New to authenticator apps? It’s easy to set up Google Authenticator. The Microsoft Authenticator app is also straightforward.
