Nokia announced the new Smart Lighting products on Wednesday, noting that the devices would offer straightforward and easy-to-install designs for consumers. The various products have been designed with the collaboration of Smartlabs, a company that has built its name on crafting smart lighting and electrical control components.  “This complete line of innovative, versatile, and easy-to-use smart lighting devices reflects Nokia’s commitment to using technology to positively impact people’s everyday experience, including enabling effective energy management.” Vipul Mehrotra, vice president of Nokia brand partnerships, said in the announcement. The list of products announced this week includes a smart lighting bridge, as well as several different styles of smart light switches and outlets. Nokia also says that the new smart home devices will work with any lighting fixture, any type of bulb, any wiring configuration your home has set up, and any location in your home. Additionally, you can set up the devices to work with Alexa or Google Assistant, allowing you to control it all with the sound of your voice. Nokia also claims that the new smart lighting devices will use a unique dual-mesh delivery system for more reliably scaling, even when Wi-Fi is down. This is done by connecting via radio frequency (RF) and the existing wires in your home. Nokia’s new smart lighting options are now available to preorder and range from $39.99 to $59.99, depending on the device.
