How to Share a Photo Album on Your iPad With Friends

Apple lets you back up your photos to the cloud and download pictures across all of your devices on iCloud. You can also share entire photo albums among friends and family. After you share an album on your iPad, friends and family can “like” individual photos, comment on them, and add their photos and videos to the album you created. It doesn’t take long to create a shared album, but to share your photos, you first need to turn on the Shared Albums option in Settings on your iPad. Then you make the shared albums in the Photos app. The people you shared the album with can see its contents, comment on them, and add to it. Exit the Settings app and return to the Home screen.

What Else Can You Do With the iPad’s Shared Photos?

Your shared albums appear on your Albums tab in the Photos app. You can see both the ones you make and ones that other people share with you. Everyone with access to a shared album can change or view it in several ways, including:

Adding new photos by scrolling to the end and tapping the blank photo with the plus sign. When you are finished selecting photos to add, tap the Done button in the upper-right corner.Add new people to the group by tapping the People button at the upper-right corner while viewing a shared album. You can also turn on or off the ability for subscribers (people you’ve added) to post photos or video.Make a public website for the album so that friends can view the photos in a web browser on their computer.Like an individual photo by tapping it to expand it on the screen and tapping the Like button in the lower-right corner of the display.
